NYFW SS ’17 Day One | Winter Blues Layers

Happy Thursday! This is the second time I have gone up to New York Fashion Week during the winter. I, again, didn’t have a solid schedule when I decided to go up for the weekend. I had a few invitations to attend a couple of shows and then planned on meeting up with a few friends while I was up there.

Outfit: SheInside coat // H&M faux fur vest (old) // Forever 21 skirt (recent/similar) // Zara top (old/similar) // Steve Madden boots // Rebecca Minkoff bag // Quay Australia sunnies // photos shot by: Tineey

Laurence + Chico presentation

My friend, Holly, sent over her invitation to the Laurence and Chico presentation that morning so I did that first thing in the morning and bumped into Evelina, which was fun to catch up with her again. That’s the thing about New York. You always bump into someone you know even with how big the city is. Laurence and Chico was a fun interpretation of combining puffy pillow-y outfits in bright colors–much like a big slumber party fest at this presentation. It was definitely fascinating to say the least.

After the presentation, I met up with another friend, Tineey, who invited me to the ShopStyle event. I had my outfit sketched by an artist there using chic sketch and even browsed the different racks of clothing that ShopStyle put together for us to use for photoshoots. Once we were done styling and shooting with the items, we would send them back. I thought that was amazing idea and I chose one item that I was going to shoot the next day. However, the item was a one-size poncho that didn’t quite fit me and overwhelmed my frame, so I unfortunately could not use it. It was still a great idea.

Yuna Yang show

Then it was straight to my next show which was Yuna Yang which I bumped into Holly not knowing she was going. Yuna Yang loves to incorporate a lot of lace in her designs and I also saw plenty of velvet. At the end of her show, she also likes to add a performance. We couldn’t stay long to watch it, but what I heard from the lady was a deep, beautiful voice that was sure to captivate the audience.

I hope you enjoyed my day one of NYFW SS’17. There’s another installment that I will post for next week, but in meantime, thank you always for reading and see you in my next post!
