Hello and happy Tuesday! I’m thankful to be living in the DC area where I can still hold onto summer just a little bit longer. It could be global warming, but the cold haven’t been setting in until mid-November and in some years, we had warmth up until mid-December. Although I love the summer heat and don’t mind it as much, I do like the cooler nights when fall starts to creep in each day.
As you can tell, I love rompers and dresses. I’ve said it again and again, but they are seriously the most easiest outfits to put together without too much effort. They keep you cool and looking great. Another favorite summer to fall romper that is quickly becoming a go-to piece in my closet is this romper below. Yes, the plunging neckline may be a little risqué, but nothing like adding a lariat necklace to keep things modest.
Also if you follow me on snapchat (mslabellemel) or instagram, you’d know that I recently had the opportunity to try out Ulta Beauty’s salon about a week or two ago. My hair grew fairly long during the summer and it was time for a change. I walked in not expecting to cut my hair short, but I wanted to donate again. My stylist, Emily, said that I needed to do 10 inches, so 10 inches it was. The cut was free and the hair was donated to Locks of Love. You can check out my first hair donation post two years ago where I went into details on what to expect when donating.
It feels so good to donate and also felt really good just having lighter hair again. Speaking of light, I also had her add some balayage highlights, which she also toned to help seal in the color and health of my hair. I was hesitant to start coloring, because I wanted to maintain the health of my hair. And thanks to Emily and three hours later at the salon, I walked away with silky smooth strands and a beautiful light color that looks absolutely natural. My highlight was $140 and to tone was anther $20–man, it’s hard being a girl. But to have a professional color your hair makes a big difference in having a healthy set of locks.
I never knew that Ulta Beauty had a salon and I’m so glad that they reached out. I had a great experience and highly recommend the place. The stylists there are well-trained and highly-skilled and I feel perfectly comfortable entrusting them with my hair again.
Also if you didn’t know, Gilt City is having their fall edition warehouse sale at Dock 5 behind Union Market in DC this Friday and Saturday. You’ll be able to shop designer pieces for women, men, kids and home–all to your heart’s content at 80% off retail. More info here if you like to attend! I will be there this Friday at 7pm so if you do come, please say hi! Thank you always for reading and see you in my next post!
