Falling for Autumn | Olive Green Asymmetrical Dress

Hello Autumn! Although I love warmer weather, I do like what autumn brings–the crisp air, the beautiful colors of changing leaves and deeper color tones for styling. This dress has been in my wardrobe since 2012 believe it or not, but it still looks just as good as the day I got it. I love the asymmetrical neckline and the crêpe material of the dress making it a unique piece that I’m sure to love for many more years.

Outfit: Carven dress // Elizabeth and James pumps (old/similar) // DVF clutch (old/love this version!) // Tom Ford sunnies // Baublebar necklace (old/love this piece!) // BCBG belt (old/love this waist belt!) // photos shot by: Sung Shin

It goes to show that when you choose quality pieces for your closet, the item continues to be timeless and something you can wear each year regardless of the fashion trends. I’m glad to say that every single piece I have in this outfit post I’ve had for several years and will continue to love for many more.

Ask yourself these three questions before purchasing an item:

  • Do you love it?
  • Can you pair it with two or three outfits?
  • Can you see yourself wearing it in 2-3 years?

If you answered all these questions in a yes, then by all means, welcome it into your wardrobe. If you said no to any one of these questions, then it’s probably not the best item for you. Put it back on the rack and move on.

I’ve been reading or rather listening to this book called “The Magic of Tidying Up.” Some practices I have already put into place like folding your clothes and placing them sideways in your drawer for easy access. But one of these days, I like to do a major purge and only keep what I love versus what I think I would wear someday.

Have you read this book and what did you think of it?

Comment below and let me know your thoughts. Until then, see you in my next post!
