Hello everyone! For NYFW day one for me, I chose to wear something light and comfy since I planned on staying in the city most of the day exploring a bit and wasn’t sure what the day would turn out to be like. I brought flat sandals with me when I needed to walk around the city and changed into my wedges come events and dinner time.
When I saw this top below on Zara site, I wasn’t sure if I would like it as much on, but to my surprise, I absolutely love how light and airy the material was. It was great to wear in 80 degree temps and the ruffles around the sleeves and hem gave the top such a flirty feel. Typically I would pair a chambray top over white, but this time, I wanted to add in a cream-color crochet shorts to make the outfit fun and warm. Adding wedges elongated my legs and the extra added inches to my frame didn’t hurt as well. Also broke out my burgundy crossbody bag to add some transitional fall items to the look.
I started the day off with an invitation to AOL’s headquarter for live BUILD interview with Diane von Furstenberg talking about her show the House of DVF to the popular wrap dress (love this version here or here) for ladies of all sizes. The intent behind her wrapped dress is for the career-driven ladies to get out of bed and grab the one thing from the closet that will take her from office to night out instantly without much thought. It’s an effortless style with a fun print that is sure to brighten any day. Much like Diane von Furstenberg’s personality. She’s so down-to-earth and real and just love her personality and humor.
Then I had some fun after the interview to head over to Tresemme’s 24/7 Runway Studio and got some light waves to my hair to wear the rest of the day and into dinner. In fact, my hair still has the waves the next day so I’ll be wearing it out for tonight’s dinner as well. Now time to get ready. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
