Face-Off Review | Maybelline Hyper Sharp vs. L’Oreal Linear Intense Liner

Hey everyone! Whenever I find a product that I like, it typically takes me a long while to make a switch to anything new. It’s not that I mind trying new things, it’s just that I always revert back to my “tried and true” products whenever a new product fails on me (*cough* benefit liner *cough*). I mean I don’t even know the last time I’ve switched my current HG mascara–still loving it and hopefully they continue making it! The old saying goes “if it’s not broken, why fix it?” holds so true with me.

So when KL told me about the Maybelline’s Hyper Sharp liner that is currently available in Asia, I had to try it. I’ve been a long time fan of L’Oreal Linear Intense liner for a few years now, but after trying the hyper sharp, I’ve made the switch. See why after the jump.

pros

  • thinnest felt tip–at .01mm, this liner gives me the precision that I’m looking for when drawing in the perfect line. I typically like to wear my liner thin and close to the lash line.
  • waterproof–by far, this baby stayed through a series of teary episode and I didn’t have to reapply.

cons

  • availability–currently not available in the states. I bought two from an ebay seller online.
  • cost–since the item is not readily available in the states, I paid $3-$4 more for it than I would normally pay for L’Oreal linear intense liner and this is not including shipping. Also, the ship time is quite lengthy coming from HK.

Needless to say, I hope this product launches in US soon, because that would take away most of the cons and I’d definitely stock up as well. What is your go-to liner? I’d love to hear it in comment section below!

Thanks for reading and have a great one!
