Summer Casual | Abstract Printed Maxi Dress

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I had a busy one actually; second shot a wedding with a photographer in the area on Saturday and filmed five videos yesterday–yes, five. I had planned to film only three, but I had some time in the morning that I did an extra two videos, so keep your eyes peeled on my youtube channel to see what they are. There will be two DIY videos (finishing up the rest of that after work today as well as a recipe for food blog), two hairstyles (one filmed two weeks ago–still need to finish editing) and two skincare videos. Excited? =D Thank goodness for the extra daylight or I would not have been able to film so much in one day.

Anyways back to my outfit below. Being petite, I still love wearing maxi dresses, because they tend to elongate my frame more especially when I wear wedges to add additional height. I would typically hem them if I could, but this dress below has a unique design that if I did hem it, I would lose the details at the bottom. So I just tucked in the extra fabric at the waist and wrapped a big ole wide belt around it. I did, however, slimmed down the sides around upper torso, because it was too roomy and the material kept falling in the back to show my bra–definitely not the look I was going for.

I actually wore this dress during my flight to LA two weekends ago–the length kept my legs warm during the flight and I brought a cardigan with me for the extra warmth. I had flats on to make it easier to maneuver through the airport and then changed into my wedges and added some accessories for the evening when I got there.

Outfit: Forever 21 dress (similar) // Forever 21 hat // Charles David Wedges // Warby Parker sunnies // forever 21 belt (old)

Have a great day today and thanks for reading!
