Instamix | June 2014 Monthly Roundup

Happy Monday! My weekend went way too fast unfortunately and I am so ready for the three day weekend this week! Anyways, it’s that time again to round up the month from my instagram, so let’s get to it starting from left to right, top to bottom.

So this month, I

  1. went home to Philly for Father’s day weekend and helped shoot a wedding with a photog friend of mine. I don’t know about you but I absolutely love a good wedding cake and always swoon at the details that go into making one. This one was no different–absolutely beautiful.
  2. filmed a ton of videos–two DIY ones like my “4 Ways to Use Chalkboard Paint” and “Flower Crown” so check them out if you haven’t done so already.
  3. had KL for one weekend where we explored a little bit of the DMV for the short period of time she was here. I definitely made sure to take her to try out Blue Moon Cafe’s famous Capt’ Crunch french toast. We also tried the “Sweet Baby Jesus” dish which was two sunny side-up eggs on top of hash browns and crab meat equals mouth in heaven. That place got a plus in my book, so if you’re ever in the area, be sure to stop by!
  4. went to a Lindsey Stirling concert in DC with Linda. Because of her, I have been a little obsessed with Lindsey Stirling and absolutely love her music. If you don’t know her already, be sure to check her out on Youtube–she has the most adorable quirky personality, not to mention so so talented.
  5. was invited to a Google DC Local City Expert Crab Bash event by my friend, Angela. What a treat and we definitely learned a thing or two on the proper ways to eating a crab!
  6. couldn’t find my cheapy aviators for the longest time so eventually broke down and bought these foldable ones. Why have I waited so long to get them?! Such a convenience especially when it’s so compact and fits perfectly in my little crossbody bag. Absolute love.
  7. had a wedding to shoot with another photog friend and stopped by to grab some EAT (eggs, avocado, tomato) sandwich at this coffee place near me to go along with my homemade strawberry lemonade (recipe here).
  8. loaded up on watermelon among other things at this wedding because they were serving BBQ. Ah well, the life of a pescetarian. I typically wear my toms shoes when I shoot weddings, but this time, I decided to bring these Kate Spade gladiator sandals for the ride instead first seen on KL. It was a random find walking by the Nordstrom shoe sales rack and I happened to see one pair and in my size. After double checking with KL that they were indeed comfy, I bought them and have been wearing them interchangeably with another pair. Since I have been introduced to a few items from Kate Spade last year, I am slowly becoming a fan of her products. They have not disappointed me once and at such a good price point when you get them on sale. Win-win

And that’s it. I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful summer heat. I love it although I need to constantly remind myself to put up my sun shades for my car, otherwise I end up with really hot leather seats. Not good when you are wearing shorts or dresses–ouch. I know, first world problems, seriously.

Thanks for reading and have a great one!
