Hey everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend. It was pretty relaxing for me; went to see Xmen Friday night, went to Lara’s 5-year blog-aversary held at Blue Mercury in Fairfax (congrats again, Lara!) and had an impromptu dinner chat with Meg (thanks again Meg!) Saturday night, filmed a video Sunday and did a DC mini tour on Monday.
I had two places that I wanted to see originally and also threw in a third one based on friend’s recommendation. It was a beautiful 90 degree weather that day so I wanted to wear something light and comfy to walk around in. Of course, I made sure I brought my sunnies and hat for the day as well. I didn’t plan on my outfit being a little patriotic, but hey, I love when these things just fall right into place. Also can we say that I’m a little obsessed over my bag? I think I’ve included it in the past four or five outfits. Can’t help it that the bag just goes with everything, so I am definitely getting my money’s worth from it!
As for the mini tour, the first two stops were fairly quick and those were the Capitol Columns at the National Arboretum and the Franciscan Monastery. Both were absolutely beautiful and huge. Because of time constraint that day, we just popped in and out so I definitely wanted to go back for a longer visit–possibly including them into an engagement shoot.
I saved the National Harbor for last since I knew there would be more to see. Apparently the Capital Wheel is new this year, which I didn’t know until last minute, but I was actually there to see “the Awakening” sculpture. All the years that we lived in MD, we had yet to visit the National Harbor so I’m glad we were able to make it a point this year. I definitely want to go back again to walk around the area some more.
Outfit: Forever 21 top and bottom (old) // H&M hat (similar) // Charles David Wedges (old/similar) // Rebecca Minkoff bag // Warby Parker sunnies // Jewelmint necklace (old) // Stella Dot bracelet // Anne Klein watch (old) // David Yurman cuff
I’m heading to LA Friday so can’t wait for that. For more live updates before I get to post anything on my blog, feel free to check my instagram. Anyways, thanks for reading everyone and have a great hump day!
