Happy Monday! I just got back from Florida where I visited my cousin and did some food photography for her family’s restaurant–that was fun. Although it was a short trip, I had no complaints over the 80 degree weather whatsoever. Although Saturday night was interesting to say the least. I got up at 6:30am to get ready for the shoot and didn’t finish till a little after 6pm. By the time dinner rolled around and finished around 10pm, I was all ready for bed. Unfortunately, bedtime didn’t happen till after 2am when I find myself, my sister and my BIL driving from Tampa to St. Petersburg to Clearwater and back trying to search for lost keys to my cousin’s SIL’s place. We eventually called a 24-hr locksmith to rescue us for the night. Needless to say, it was quite a tiring and unplanned excursion and I was glad to be home to recuperate yesterday. =P
Anyways, back to reality. I have to thank my friend, Sung, for taking time out of his busy schedule to help me shoot some outfits few weeks ago. He suggested Georgetown and although I love the area, it’s always such a pain to find parking. Fortunately and unfortunately, we did find parking but only because it got cold after a beautiful Saturday the day before.
BR has been coming out with some fun printed blazers, such as the colorful floral printed one posted few weeks ago, and now this one below. I was drawn to this printed floral blazer since it reminded me of cherry blossoms which should be peaking any time now. I can’t wait to see them–always puts me in awe over their simple beauty.
Anyways, the one complaint I have so far regarding the blazers are the sleeves. Even ordering the smallest size in petites, the sleeves still hang about two inches too long. If you didn’t notice on my instagram, I’ve been taking some sewing classes to refresh my memory and skills. In the past, I’ve been able to do simple things like hemming my pants (which I’ve been slacking if you couldn’t tell =P), but if I could do more like taking up sleeves on jackets, I can save myself a lot of money doing more alterations on my own versus taking them to the tailor. We’ll see how that one goes. =P
Also I’m a sucker for anything with contrasting materials such as this H&M top made with cotton at top and chiffon for the bottom half. Such a great way to update a simple top.

Right after the shoot, I had to stop by Serendipity 3 for the frozen chocolate even though it was 30 degrees out that day. I haven’t had them for so long and had a craving–totally well worth it and since I was in the area, why not? =)
I hope you all have a great one and thanks for reading!
