Instamix: DC Shoot, Catchups and Winter Storm

Happy Monday all! Well, I hope everyone who’s on the East Coast is keeping warm from this winter snowy/ice storm. There was a two-hour delay this morning, so commuting to work was not too bad. Thank goodness for that.

Anyways, it’s been awhile since my last instamix post, so I thought I throw one in this week.
Caught up with work Friday night and headed into DC the next morning for a shoot near the National Gallery of Art. The escalator above was just too pretty not to shoot there. I’ll need to go back when I have time to explore the place a little more for sure.
Then I went to Hot n Juicy for quick lunch, before I went back home to do some photo work. Met up with friends later at Mussel Bar in Bethesda and happened to bump into Linda. Stayed afterwards to catch up and didn’t leave the place until midnight.
Then Sunday, the winter storm started to hit us pretty quickly with snowing falling hard in the morning through the afternoon, then sleet which turned to rain leaving icy trails all around the city. I had to go for a four-hour shoot in the late afternoon to evening, which I wasn’t looking forward to because of the traveling. I saw four accidents on my way to and from the event; thank goodness I got back okay.

I was definitely feeling the holiday spirit and have a mini setup above that I’ve had for many years. We typically don’t get a tree since I usually go home during the holidays to spend time with the family.

Also how cute is this favor that I got from the event? And, I’ve been loving any scents from Bath and Body Works that have the word cookie in it–they smells absolutely delish.

So, it will be a short week this week at work. I’ll be leaving for Chicago Thursday night for hubs graduation. I can’t believe he’s finally done with his MBA after 2.5 years. I’ll have him home for about a month before he will be traveling again, but this time for his new job.

Alright, hope this Monday flies by and stay warm!
