Disney Halloween Tutorial: Ariel with DIY Mermaid Costume by SLOABN

Hey everyone! So in light of Halloween coming up this week, I’ve teamed up with my friend, KL, to bring to you a Halloween tutorial, based from my favorite Disney movie “The Little Mermaid”, dressed as none other than my favorite princess, Ariel.

KL did an amazing job with this DIY mermaid costume; it was not what I had pictured in my head when we first talked about putting this video together last month. I have to admit that I was nervous to see the costume, because all I heard from my end was lots of hot glue gun action–lol. What I had imagined was maybe a tea length skirt with multi shimmering layers and a bodice for the top. What KL put together was more than perfect; a fishtail skirt layered at the bottom with a beaded, lace and floral petals decorated bra top. All you need to do is add a nude camo underneath and you’re good to go. Please check out the rest of her awesome DIY costumes here.

I had so much fun putting this look together and although I do not like horror movies around this time, I do appreciate the creativity and awesome makeup that goes into putting a costume together for one Halloween night. You can be whoever and whatever you want to be, so why not have fun with it, right? Feel free to check out the rest of my past Halloween looks here.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I’d love to hear your costume pick for Halloween this Thursday. As for me, I will actually be heading down to Houston to hang out with KL and Christen touring around their city, so I can’t wait for that.

Have a great Monday all or should I start practicing my y’alls? =D
