Details: Black on Black

Hey everyone! I feel like I’m a bit behind in my posts, but slowly catching up. There’ll be a Beautycon post (I know, so late) that I am working on and a few NYFW posts coming up. I also have a hair/makeup tutorial that I still need to edit the video and post, hopefully this week or early next, so expect that coming up soon.

For this outfit post, I wanted to play with black on black, but mixing up the materials to add some depth to the outfit. I’ve had this top for awhile now that I finally got around to pairing, but there are definitely slight variations to a pleather top out there that you can find. About a month ago, I saw this skirt at Express and was drawn to the pleather trimming detail and thought it would go so well with this top.

For pleather or leather materials, I find it daunting to try to iron out the wrinkles, especially since 1) I hate ironing and 2) I don’t want to ruin the item. Good thing I have an awesome DIY guru/friend on my side, KL, and she gave me a great tip to help with the wrinkles back in August. To iron leather/pleather, just place a towel on the item and keep heat on low–so simple and yet effective.
