Hello all! So for day two of Cancun trip, we decided to take a tour bus to see one of the new seven wonders of the world–the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. This would be our third world wonder that we saw; the first being the Great Wall of China and the second was the Colosseum in Rome while touring around Europe. As we were booking the trip at the hotel’s travel concierge, I didn’t realize that the place was actually 2.5 hour drive each way. So, needless to say, the trip was an all day thing.
For my outfit, I wanted to something comfy and this romper that I saw at a Top Shop in LA fit the bill nicely. I especially love the lace detail opening in the back. Of course, my trusty sandals, hat and sunnies were a definite must for most of the walking there. Also, surprisingly and not so surprisingly, there were definitely a fair amount of people who brought umbrellas to help stay cool under the hot sun–they even had umbrellas to rent there for those who didn’t bring one. Luckily for us, the hotel supplied one for each room, so we made sure to bring ours.
After Chichen Itza, they took us to the last stop which was an underground cave. It was interesting, but I would probably skip this for anyone who wanted to take a tour out to the area. After the tour ended and we got back to the hotel, it was straight to our hotel’s restaurant to grab some dinner.
Now that we hit 3 out of 7 wonders of the world–it’s now my personal goal to complete all seven. A possible next one could be hitting Brazil and see the Redeemer of Christ then swing over to Peru for Machu Picchu all in one trip–we’ll see.
