Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream & Premium BB Cream Giveaway

So recently I was asked to do a review on Dr. Jart+’s BB Cream, which honestly, I had no idea that they even had one. Most BB creams that I’ve ever tried have typically been bought overseas. If you don’t know what BB creams are, they typically are a one-product solution that is aimed at concealing, even out skintone, protects you from sun with high SPF, moisturizes and with some, has anti-aging properties.

As it turns out, Dr. Jart+ had launched its BB cream this past summer at Sephoras everywhere, so now it is readily available. The price point around $30 doesn’t make it a bad product at all. I was sent two BB creams – one Water Fuse and the other Premium. I wanted to try the Water Fuse BB Cream since I was very intrigued with the idea of it being water-based. It is 50% water, so helps hydrate and maintain moisture for your skin. The only thing that I really have a problem with the product is that it does not have anti-aging properties and the SPF is only at 25. SPF 30 and above is typically preferred to keep harmful rays from your skin and I usually wear SPF 55 just to be on the safe side. =P

Below are pics taken wearing the Water Fuse BB cream so you can see how well the product blends into my skin.

BB cream – left; bare face – right

BB cream blended on left; compare to bare skin on right

Face on left has BB cream all over face; Face on right has BB cream set with Cargo face powder

As you can see, the Premium has a pump which gives you more control in using the right amount of product. It has also the higher SPF and anti-aging properties that I love. Like most BB creams, Dr. Jart+ only carries one color for each so limits the color selection. If you are either a MAC NC25 or lighter, this should work well for you.

Bottom line: I would definitely wear repurchase this product if I run out. A little goes a long way with BB creams, so you are definitely getting your money’s worth. I love the idea of the Water Fuse and it wears so naturally on my skin and does not feel heavy at all. I’ve also noticed the dewy-ness that it gives to my face as well. Since I have pretty good experience with Water Fuse BB cream, I have confidence the Premium BB Cream would be the same way.

With that said, I will go ahead and giveaway Dr. Jart+ Premium BB cream to one of my readers. Just comment below and let me know if you have tried BB creams and your thoughts on it and include your blogger nick.

  1. I used BB cream once (I think it was Missha) and I didn’t really like it. It was too beige, but the Dr. Jart one looks like a good match for me since it looks like we have the same coloring.

Thanks for doing another giveaway 🙂

Q: I’ve tried a few bb creams.. most of which broke me out or was too white for my skin tone – as of now, i found the perfect one (for winter) and that’s the Skin79 VIP gold bb cream ^___^ BB creams are a great substitute for foundation during the summer~

  5. 50% water sounds wonderful for my dry dehydrated skin!!! must swatch soon… I hope we have it here (toronto)… since we never get anything or get them A LOT later lol

I love how your skin looks brighter =]

I have tried bb cream before, 2 skinfood and skin79, the coverage is decent and my skin hasn’t reacted badly yet lol I do like it =D because a lot of them do keep my skin more moisturized then foundation!!!

THe only BB cream I’ve tried is from Skin 79! But I don’t use it everyday. I like how it blends easily and I can simply just apply it like a moisturizer!!

  7. i never tried bb cream, but i love to try new things.

  9. hi mel! thanks for holding this amazing giveaway. I’ve tried BB creams before (Missha and Hanskin), but could never find the right color for my nc30 skin. I would always get a grey cast, but that hasn’t stopped me from continuing my search for my hg bb cream!

  10. I never tried the Dr. Jart one but I like the :’egere Multi white bb cream and I am interested in trying others!

  11. I’m trying the TonyMoly Triple Expert BB Cream and so far so good 😀

I don’t use base make up before BB cream because I didn’t fancy the smell of foundation so this is nice for days when I want/need that bit of “smoothening” out haha

I’ve tried two bb creams (third is on its way-etude house precious mineral no1 bb cream). I’ve tried skinfood’s good afternoon peach and green tea bb cream and holika holika clearing bb cream. Skinfood was really bad on my skin (oily, acne prone), it felt really heavy and I had to blot every two hours. It also broke me out. Holika holika is much better (I am currently using it), it has better oil control (not much better), did not broke me out, but the color is a little off since it oxidizes (I am really pale). I am still looking for my holy grail bb cream, I hope that could be dr. Jart 🙂

  13. I’ve never tried BB creams because i can’t get it here in Germany 🙁 But i really want to try one .. :’D
