Lookbook: Chicago 9.24 – 9.25

Last weekend I went to Chicago for hubby’s first weekend of MBA at U. Chicago. He will be flying in every weekend to attend school for a day and a half and then fly back for the week for work. I know it sounds crazy but apparently this is the norm. About 60% of the students who attend there are out of states – even his coworker has been doing that for the past year. So I wanted to go and check out Chicago for the second time and try to take in as much of the city as I can. Although it was raining most of the time, I still can see why people love the city. If only winter wasn’t so brutal here, I really could see myself living there.

Planning outfits for a trip really takes me awhile because I never know what to wear to accomodate the weather! I definitely brought boots along since I knew it was going to be rainy and thank goodness I brought a blazer, because the temperature was at least 10-30 degrees difference from Maryland. When we left, it was 50 degrees in Chicago but landed in Maryland at 80 degrees.

Top: James Perse button down shirt (similar); Bottom: James Jeans (CO-OP); Shoes: Steve Madden Intyce boots; Accessories: H&M scarf, Chan Luu bracelets (similar) and Botkier Charlotte cross body (similar)

I absolutely love this necklace from Stylemint with it’s classic style and simplicity of it.

Outerwear: Armani Exchange cropped blazer (similar); Top: James Perse tee (similar), Bottom: H&M tights; Shoes: Steve Madden Intyce boots; Accessories: H&M scarf, Chan Luu bracelets (similar), ring gifted from Shopthelook.net and Botkier Charlotte cross body (similar)

I did have hubby help me film during the trip, but unfortunately the footages aren’t usable. For one, there was alot of noise in the background and the other, hubby’s still learning to focus correctly. Ah well, I can’t blame him for trying though – hehe.

I also had a chance to meet up with Hanh from ahanhbarbie34 for dim sum. She’s just the sweetest girl in person and I had an awesome time chit-chatting all things beauty. She even pointed out a secret place for some great prices on Essie’s nail polishes and believe me when I say I totally stocked up on some. =P Thanks girly! We’ll need to do this again for sure!
