Product Review: Clarisonic Mia

Ok, I must admit that I was one of the few skepticals that didn’t believe in purchasing this unit especially with all the hype surrounding the product. But, when the price was awesomely low during a sale, coupon code, and credit, I couldn’t resist trying it out. So I purchased the Clarisonic Mia in Pink, because well, part of the proceeds do go to the Breasts Cancer Foundation and hey, I’m always looking to help out any good cause out there.

After using this for once/twice every week or two, here are a few things that I’ve noticed and they are as follows:

Pros:

  • I don’t exfoliate as often as I should so using the Mia definitely helped with scrubbing any dead cells off the face
  • I’m more prone to using the Mia to exfoliate and I don’t typically wash my face for full 60 secs so knowing that the Mia will stop when 60 secs is up helps for a cleaner face.
  • Love the portability of it that you can take it anywhere and doesn’t take up much counter space -the charge also holds for a very long time
  • Wait for sale and promo code around holidays and you can get an amazing deal for the unit
  • You can use your facial wash of choice – I used Neutrogena Natural and St. Ives Green Tea facial wash
  • It’s waterproof so that you can use it in the shower

Cons:

  • Although the brush is soft, I feel at certain places especially near the cheekbones area that it tends to get sensitive and red.
  • My nose is sensitive especially around spring allergies, so the vibration from the unit tickled my nose every time I go near it and make me sneeze =P
  • The price is a bit high and you should replace the head brush every 2-3 months and they aren’t inexpensive either

Verdict:

Knowing what I know now, I would definitely recommend this product as part of your skincare routine. With the unit giving off a sonic frequency of 300 movements per sec – that’s way faster than you can scrub with your own hands, thus leaving your skin much cleaner. With all the dirt and makeup from the day completely off – letting your skin breathe – your skincare products will seep deep into your skin layers for better efficacy. Like I said before, if you do have the budget for it, by all means, it’s a must-have. However, if you are still teetering on whether or not to purchase the unit due to price and necessity of it and your skin is pretty good to begin with, then I’d wait on it.

Have you bought a Clarisonic unit? What did you think about it? I’d love to hear it!

well, that’s it! I hope this review was helpful for you all!

Until next time,
Mel

  1. it sounds good…. but i’d probably have to save up for it!!! or wait for the sale =]

  2. Hubs got me the Clarisonic Plus fo my B Feb and I love it! I use the “delicate” head, which is easier on the face than the “sensitive” head. I also love the body brush – great for exfoliation!

I notice that my foundation goes on a lot smoother and my pores don’t get clogged.

  3. @Steph yes, def wait for a sale if you can.. that’s when the prices are best.
