Lookbook: St. Michael’s

I haven’t really done OOTDs all that much, reason being, one – lack of time and two, don’t have a go-to person to film and take photos. I mean, I can try to do one myself with a tripod, but it’s always much easier having another person working the camera. =) Somehow I wrangled hubby into helping me with this one and with a little coaxing and some directions, he didn’t do too bad on the first try and didn’t really complain, which was a good sign for me. Fingers cross that he’ll continue to help me out with it! =P

Anywho, this was the first weekend that I didn’t have to shoot a wedding since summer started and I was finally able to relax the whole weekend with hubby. His former boss invited us and two other couples to her “stay”-cation home at St. Michael’s – a little town near the Eastern Shore of MD. Apparently, talking to a few others, you could say it’s like the “Hamptons” of New York. I had no idea and when we got there, I could see why. The area was just gorgeous all around. Apparently, one of the CEO or founder of Coco-Cola even has a vacation home there. I could definitely see myself going there again just to hang out for a day. It was a short 2-hr drive so not too bad for a quick getaway.

After hubby had some fun in the sun at the beach, I pulled him away to help me film a short ootd. =) This was his first try so parts of the video is a bit blurry but I’m confident over time, that he’ll improve – so I’m definitely hoping there’ll be more to come!

Top: shorts and belts: F21
Hat: Wide-brim sun hat from H&M
Shoes: T-strap sandals from Steve Madden
Jewelry: Michael Kor’s watch, Amrita Singh and David Yurman bracelet

After the beach, we went into town to browse around the little quaint stores decorating Talbot St. There was a cute little chocolate store that had an amazing ice cream section inside – just typing this makes me want to have another one right now. Below pics have been taken and processed with my iPhone.

This dog was made entirely out of newspaper – wow

I love quoting Coco Chanel and this quote from her book just nails it. “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous” – love it!

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you like to see more of this, let me know in the comments section. Hubby and I were talking about places that we would like to have a vacation home but not really sure where. Have you girls thought of places that you want to have a vacation home and where would that be? I’d love to hear about it!

Ok, until next time!
