Fashion Watch: Banana Republic Has Gone Mad!

I learned today from the lovely Jean at ExtraPetite that Banana Republic announced end of June that the Mad Men collection will be arriving in stores everywhere late Fall. Being in marketing and actually have taken an interest in advertising here and there, Mad Men has been the number one show to watch amongst my peers. So, when Netflix started streaming whole seasons of Mad Men, hubby started catching up with the show and I’d watch it subconsciously while working on photos. Then I started sitting down and watching it with hubby when the show started to get really interesting to me.

Needless to say when I heard that BR was coming out with the line, I was immediately intrigued. I mean the characters in the show were always well put-together and their hair always nicely up and polished and by all means – tons of updo ideas and inspirations from just one episode. =P

Here’s what the collection looks like for the ladies so far:

Loving the trench coat in this first set however as far as I know, BR is only coming out with regulars for Mad Men collection. I do hope that’s not the case, because I typically buy BR jackets/coats in their petite line otherwise the sleeves, length of coat, and just overall fit is too big on me. =/

Loving the burgundy dress at the end also, although the cut may make you look bigger than you are with an empire waist

The blue sheath dress is very sophisticated – can be the perfect cocktail dress.

After seeing the collection so far, which outfit are you girls leaning towards and also curious to know who is your favorite character from the show? I think I’m leaning more towards Joan – I just love her strong character and charm. =)

Ok, that’s it for now. Can’t wait for the line to be released soon so I can try out some outfits!

Until next time!
Mel

  1. Even if they don’t make these in petite sizing, I’ll still be taking inspiration! Love the shrunken cardis over low tie blouses, the way the scarf is worn with the burgundy dress, and the black lace top with slim ankle pants.

  2. @PetiteAsianGirl that is true! plenty of ideas to pick and choose from. =D
