Review: Cellnique Skincare

So I had the fortune of trying out Cellnique Skincare and been wanting to try them for awhile after hearing so many great reviews. Thank you Selina for being an awesome rep and was able to send these my way to test them out. I had about 3 weeks or so to try them out and I’ll go through each one on my review.

First off, the items came nicely packaged and wrapped so you don’t need to worry about them spilling or breaking.

I had wanted to try three things from the skincare line and that would be the Advanced Bio Renewal Serum, the Skin Action Sebum Gel and the Contour De-Puffy Jewel.

First off, the Advanced Bio Renewal Serum -$51 (1 fl oz/ 30ml). When I first applied the serum to my face, I had a stinging sensation. I wasn’t sure what it was but I stopped using it for a day then went back to it. It seems that my skin needed some time to adjust to the ingredients in the serum so after few tries, my skin felt good again. It is most likely the AHA ingredient in the serum which can take your skin some time to get adjusted.

The serum has yellow tinge to the cream, which comes in a pump and has a distinct scent to it. I wouldn’t call it a bad scent, but it wasn’t unbearable either. Overall a nice cream that absorbs well into the skin

Purified Water (Aqua), PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Sour Milk (Lactic Acid), AHA (Glycolic Acid), Idebenone (Hydroxydecyl Ubiquinone), C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Grape (Vitis vinifera) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, OMC (Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate), Saccharide Isomerate, Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) Oil, Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate), BHA (Salicylic Acid), Dimethicone, Lecithin, Beta-sitosterol, Hydrogenated Phosphatidylcholine, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Allantoin, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea.

The Skin Action Sebum Gel – $51 (1 fl. oz/30ml) has a very nice and cooling feel to the gel. Once applied, you can feel the menthol-like feel to the skin from the peppermint ingredient. I have combination skin; oily in t-zone and normal on the rest, so I applied the gel only to the t-zone area. So far in the summer, it has kept my oils at bay so I’m pretty satisfied with the results. This gel has no noticeable scent to it, which was nice compared to the serum. I also love several ingredients that this product provides within the container. However, now that the weather is a bit cooler, I’ve stopped using it, but will probably pick it up again when the weather gets hotter.

Purified Water (Aqua), Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Extract, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) Extract, Carbomer, Propylene Glycol, Menthol, Poly (Oxy-1, 2-Ethanediyl) a-(Donyl-Phenyl)-w-Hydroxy, Sodium Hydroxide, Peppermint (Mentha piperita) oil, Male Fern (Dryopteris filix-mas) Root Extract, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Potassium Azelaoyl Diaglycinate, Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) Leaf Oil, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea.

Lastly, the Contour De-Puffy Jewel– $54 (.5 fl oz/15ml) was definitely my fave out of the bunch. I haven’t been on a good sleeping schedule due to the amount of work I’ve taken on so I definitely needed something to help alleviate the bags under my eyes. When I read from Tammy(Notarichgirl) and how well it did for her eyes, I had to try it.

The product itself has a clear gel texture to it, no noticeable scent and absorbs onto the eye area very nicely. I definitely apply this every morning and night on top of a serum, but under my eye cream. Overall it has kept my eyes smooth and not so puffy so a plus in my book.

Purified Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Methylsilanol Mannuronate, Glycerin, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide), Carrageenan Moss (Chondrus crispus) Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Propylene Glycol, Ppg-26-Buteth-26, Caffeine, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sulisobenzone (Benzophenone-4), Disodium EDTA, Quartz, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Rhodochrosite Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide Gold Dipeptide, Red #33 (CI17200), Blue #1 (CI42090).

For the ingredients in each of the product at those price point, this skincare line is pretty effective and worth a second look.
