Hubby’s Fave Soy Sauce Wings

So this recipe has been requested couple months back and I finally got around to putting it together yesterday. I apologize for the delay! Anywho, the story behind these wings. You know how people always tell you that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach? Well it’s true for hubby’s case.

When we first started dating about 6 years ago back in Pittsburgh, I made him these wings and he loved it! So everytime he would come over to my place which was probably about 2-3 times per week, I would make him these chicken wings. I had a roommate at the time and whenever she saw me making these wings, she knew hubby was coming over. It was actually pretty funny but here we are today, happily married and him 20 lbs heavier – haha. =P This is why I named the wings after him. hehe. Anyways, without further ado, here’s the recipe.

First the ingredients:

5-6 pieces of chicken wings
Garlic
Ginger
Soy Sauce
Dark Soy Sauce
Oyster Sauce
Sesame Oil
Sugar


Next, mince garlic and slice ginger

Take the chicken wings and cut slices into the thick parts of the meat.
I do this so that cooking time is cut in half.


Heat up vege oil in nonstick pot then stir in the garlic & ginger


Add the wings and 4T of water
(I usually just wing this part – no pun intended =P)


Next up, add your ingredients, 1T of sesame oil, couple turns of soy sauce, 1T of oyster sauce, soup spoonful of sugar.
(Same here, I usually don’t measure when pouring ingredients in =P)


Let it steam with lid on for a few mins and come back and add 2 capful of dark soy sauce


Keep lid on, come back every 5 mins to stir and I’d give it a good 20 mins of cooking time before it’s completely done.




eh voila!
You have yourself a nice yummy plate of soy sauce chicken wings.

  6. Mmm looks delish!! Kikoman shoyu is too salty for my tastes. I love Aloha Low Sodium shoyu. It’s the best! LOL!

  9. i dont add salt in the dish and the dark soy sauce is only 2 capfuls which gives it the taste. also the sugar helps balance it out =)
