Caudalie VinoPerfect Mask Review

I’ve been a Caudalie fan for probably about a year and a half when a Sephora SA introduced me to the line. Their product lines are all natural, do no use parabens (a plus) and do not test on animals (another plus). I’m not sure why I’ve waited this long to try out more of their products, but here’s one below that I’m beginning to love! I’ve been on a mask kick lately so when I saw this on Sephora’s mail flyer, I had to go try it out.

Also I had my first facial yesterday with Amy for spa week and just chatting up a storm with her trying to pick at her aesthetician brain. =P She mentioned that you can use masks everyday if you like and you can also use it for spot treatment on certain problem areas and sleep with it. I don’t think I can sleep with masks on for fear I’d get it everywhere, but I will probably start using masks everyday or try to at least. Heck, y not? =) She also told me never ever buy any products that say it will shrink your pores or tighten them, bc that’s a myth. I’ve heard that before as well but it’s good to have her confirm on a few things. =)

Additionally, she complimented me on my skin, after shining a huge light over my face, and that all I needed was a deep cleansing, everything else looks great. Awesome! Finally, I’m doing something right. ;D I told her I’m trying to be good and taking care of my skin bc it’s the only one you’ve got and she agreed with me of course. She told me a story of how this lady came in and said that she doesn’t wash her face at night but just moisturize. Uhhh, that’s like saying you rolled around in mud all day, don’t bathe and apply lotion. Kinda gross. Yeah, so ladies, moral of story is take care of ur skin! =)

On a side note, if you’ve never had a facial – omg, please do. It’s heaven! I went straight there after my zumba toning class since it was right in the area and almost fell asleep in the chair, bc it was just so relaxing. I took advantage of the spaweek special where it’s $50 for whatever service listed on the website vs regular $80 and up. It’s much like restaurant week but for beauty. I can’t believe I waited this long to hear about it! Guess it pays to be a beauty blogger! I have to thank Steph for forwarding along the email to me right after our NYC trip. Thanks girl!! I’m not much of a massage girl, but facial – yes please. What girl doesn’t like a little pampering every now and then? =)

Ok, I digress, now onto my review:

Price: $42
Where to purchase: Sephora or Caudalie
Size: 1.3 fl oz
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Dicaprylyl Carbonate*, Glycerin*, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil*, Pentaerythrityl Distearate*, Decyl Glucoside*, Bisabolol*, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Tripalmitin*, Tristearin*, Maltodextrin*, Subtilisin, Lipase, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Menthyl PCA*, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Dimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate*, Parfum (Fragrance), Butylene Glycol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid, Sodium Pca*, Cetearyl Alcohol*, Phospholipids*, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Glycolic Acid, Pentylene Glycol, Palmitoyl Grapevine Shoot Extract*, Tartaric Acid, Malic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Bicarbonate, Xanthan Gum Crosspolymer, Sodium Phytate*, Hydroxyethylcellulose*, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract*, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract*, Caccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract*, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract*, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract*. *Plant Origin.
Consistency: creamy texture
Smell: It has a pleasant scent to it much like their other products as well with the grape extract.
What it claims: A gentle exfoliating mask that renews the appearance of the skin, tightens the appearance of pores and provides an immediate burst of radiance to your complexion.
What it actually does: I’m not sure about the tightening of pores bc that’s not really realistic but I do notice that my skin is extra soft from using this afterwards. It’s a light gentle cream mask so there’s not much of a tingling effect which I like. I use this once a week with the brush applicator, but I feel that they could probably do without that applicator. I just squeeze a little bit out of the tube and spread the product around my face avoiding the eye area using the brush. After spreading my face, I then pinch right at the brush applicator to grab more products (there’s alot on there) and spread the rest with my hands.

Skin Type: gentle enough to be suitable for all skin types.
Likelihood of Repurchase: I’m not sure I’ll buy it again bc I like to rotate on products and try out different ones. I will come back again maybe in a later future when there’s nothing else that’s bigger or better. =)
