Yu-Be Lip Therapy Review

I LOVE Lip Balms! Love it! Up until last year, I never really had a problem with them. That was until I saw my sister apply petroleum jelly onto her lips and she recommended it for soft lips. So naturally I figure I give it a shot! I applied it on constantly for about a week. Then I noticed some small spots on my lips and freaked out! At first I didn’t think it was the petroleum jelly that did it. So I kept applying it on to hopefully get rid of the spots. That didn’t work and in fact, more showed up! I stopped using it and tried something else that had camphor in it and slowly the spots subsided. Whew! That was when I found out I was allergic to petroleum jelly.

It was also reinforced when I bought MAC’s tinted lip conditioner with SPF last year. The same thing happened and I called the customer service to find out what were the ingredients and sure enough Petrolatum showed up on the list. So unfortunate bc I really wanted MAC’s HK lip conditioner in Pink Fish. Ah well.

So I was in search for the next best thing and heard ravings on Smith’s Rosebud Salve which I purchased 3 of them along with Yu-Be’s Lip Therapy (more ravings on the moisturizer etc) from drugstore.com. I ripped open the package and immediately applied rosebud salve on. It was so smooth and felt nice on the lips.

I happened to glance at the ingredients and was so disheartened to see Petrolatum as their base!! SIGH! I’m not sure why I thought it would be all natural, but I should’ve learned to read the ingredients before purchasing anything lip-related. I sooo wanted this to be my HG. Not all is lost however bc I still have the Yu-Be Lip Therapy and now for the review! =)
